Pat McDonagh, founder of SuperMac’s restaurants and The Plaza Group, invited Reggie to Ireland where he toured the country making live appearances and drop-ins on numerous morning and radio shows as part of the Barack Obama Plaza 10th birthday celebration. The trip was a resounding success and will be talked about for years to come!
In the photo above, McDonagh shows President Barack Obama ‘Reggie’ how to use a Massey 135 tractor at the famous Galway Plaza. As part of the tour, Reggie was introduced to many local Irish traditions including getting Irish dancing lessons by the Stephanie Power School of Dancing and meeting with Galway GAA stars Damien Comer and Jason Flynn. He also had the opportunity to meet a host of Galway’s finest young hurling and camogie stars where he was introduced to members of the Killimordaly Juvenile GAA club. Along the tour, they also visited the Portlaoise and Kinnegad Plazas.
